Using new technologies to develop new materials, new properties of materials and new ways to produce products

Roos Meerman

Researching the limits of materials

Roos Meerman researches techniques and processes, using her design mentality to innovate and pioneer. By altering existing machines or tools, she finds new ways to translate her amazement for nature and physics into something tangible. The outcome is used as a way to talk about advancement in technology and as a conversation starter for crossover collaborations with scientists and industrial partners. With a special interest in 3D printing, Meerman explores the potential of this game-changing technique in multiple projects, challenging the boundaries and applicabilities of both material and mechanics.

Thanks 2017! See you next year — #bestnine2017Still hoping for a white christmas! Happy holidays! Video by #alanstankevitz #frozen #soap #bubble #happy #holiday #blue #art #videoAlready one year ago we presented our project Dynamorphosis - the beauty of inner mechanisms —- This project merges the invisible biological process of the body with 3Dprinting, with attention to biology’s ability to self-assemble, transfer substances, and maintain equilibrium. —
This is a project of @lilian_van_daal and @studioroosmeerman in collaboration with Swammerdam Institute Amsterdam and @joppe.spaansHypnotized by this metal bending machine — #heavymetalOrder and disorder in bubbles #bubbles #beauty #pearl #air #pocket #foam #structure #organize #design #glass #vsco #vscocamToday's pitch at New Material Business Model Challenge at Dutch Design Week Eindhoven #newmaterial #technology #3dprinting #air #water #ddw #impacthub #amsterdam #business #pitch #design #art #eindhoven #vsco #vscocamKozie, the interactive sound wall @kunstlab_arnhem and my studio developed for health care! I visualize the hidden energetic flows that are constantly surrounding us. By putting a scientific instrument in a different context, visitors can see what usually goes unseen.
This project was exhibited at Power Play by Dutch Invertuals in 2016.
